Hyundai has unveiled the 2024 Sonata in the American market, featuring a striking redesign and, for the first time, an all-wheel drive system. This system, shared with Hyundai SUVs, provides enhanced power distribution between the front and rear wheels as required.
The all-wheel drive option is exclusively available with a naturally aspirated 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, producing 191 horsepower. It will not be offered in the sporty Sonata N Line or hybrid versions.
Significant Design and Tech Updates
The Sonata features a fresh front design with sleek headlights and aerodynamic rear lights. Inside, it includes a dual 24-inch display that merges infotainment with a digital instrument panel, as well as a head-up display and a premium Bose sound system.
Engine Options Available
The Sonata will offer three engine choices in North America: the 2.5-liter naturally aspirated engine with all-wheel drive, a 2.5-liter turbocharged engine, and a 2.0-liter hybrid engine delivering a combined 192 horsepower.
The updated Sonata is expected to hit North American dealerships this fall, with pricing details to be announced later.
