The Xpeng X9 has been officially unveiled in the UK, introducing a new body color and a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system. It is expected to go on sale later this year, competing with models like the Volkswagen ID.Buzz in the European market.
While pricing for the UK version hasn’t been announced yet, the X9 is priced between RMB 359,800 and 419,800 in China.
Design & Exterior
The UK-spec Xpeng X9 maintains the same design as its Chinese counterpart. It features a closed front fascia with an inverted trapezoidal grille incorporating a hexagonal gradient pattern.
Unlike its Chinese version, the UK model does not come with LiDAR sensors. Instead, two black panels cover the LiDAR mounting positions.
The roofline slopes downward from the D-pillar, giving the rear hatch a distinctive diagonal angle. In terms of size, the Xpeng X9 measures 5,293 mm in length, 1,988 mm in width, and 1,785 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,160 mm.
Notably, the UK model introduces a new blue paint option, which isn’t available in China or other overseas markets. In China, the Xpeng X9 is offered in silver, black, white, and gold.
Interior & Features
The UK version of the Xpeng X9 features a right-hand drive layout, a two-spoke steering wheel, and a 15-inch central touchscreen.
Inside, the 2+2+3 seating configuration provides a balance of space and comfort. The front seats come with heating and ventilation functions, while the rear passengers enjoy a 21.4-inch ceiling-mounted screen. The third-row seats fold electronically at the touch of a button for added convenience.
Other standout features include a 360-degree panoramic camera system, a panoramic sunroof, a dual wireless phone charging pad, heat pump air conditioning, and a 23-speaker premium sound system.
Performance & Powertrain
According to reports, the Xpeng X9 in the UK will be powered by a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system, delivering 469 hp and 640 Nm of torque. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.7 seconds.
The vehicle supports DC fast charging up to 330 kW and comes equipped with rear-wheel steering, allowing for an impressively tight 10.8-meter turning radius.
