BMW has officially unveiled the all-new BMW M5 2025 model, featuring significant aesthetic updates and a more powerful hybrid engine. With the integration of electric components, the vehicle's weight has increased, and it now boasts an all-wheel-drive system. Let’s explore the key details.
Key Mechanical Updates for the BMW M5 2025
The hybrid system integrated into the V8 twin-turbo engine has boosted power to 727 horsepower and torque to 1000 Nm. This marks a remarkable increase from the previous M5 model, which produced 600 horsepower.
However, the addition of electric components has resulted in a significant weight increase from 1971 kg to 2445 kg, approximately a 24% increase. This has led to a slight decrease in acceleration, with the new model reaching 97 km/h in 3.4 seconds compared to 3.2 seconds for its predecessor, while the top speed remains unchanged at 306 km/h when opting for the M Driver Performance Package.
One of the significant benefits of the hybrid system is the ability to drive purely on electric power for up to 40 kilometers. The engine is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and features a special Boost Control mode for track settings, providing the fastest possible response rates for the engine and transmission during driving. BMW has also completely redesigned the suspension system to distinguish the new M5 from the standard 5 Series.
Aesthetic Updates Overview
The high-performance sedan has undergone significant aesthetic updates, including a redesigned front grille and wider front and rear wheels, measuring 20 inches in the front and 21 inches in the back. BMW offers three different wheel designs.
Additional features include high-performance M carbon-ceramic brakes, a chrome-plated M exhaust system, and dynamic side mirrors to enhance aerodynamics.
Interior specifications include a new steering wheel, a premium Bowers & Wilkins audio system, a head-up display, a panoramic sunroof, a 12.3-inch infotainment screen, and a 14.9-inch instrument cluster.
Pricing and Production Timeline
Production of the all-new BMW M5 2025 will commence in July, with global prices starting at $119,500 (approximately 448,000 SAR) before taxes.
