Following the stunning release of the Cross a few months ago, Toyota has officially unveiled its newest crossover SUV—the Corolla Cross.

This model is a compact SUV based on the Corolla platform, yet it shows a significant departure from the previous Corolla as seen in Toyota’s teaser images. The Corolla Cross features a truck-like aesthetic with more pronounced wheel arches and a refreshed front grille, reminiscent of the design style seen in American trucks like the Toyota Tundra.

Thanks to the advantages of the TNGA-C platform, the all-new Corolla Cross offers a more comfortable interior and ample space. The spacious cabin provides a broad view and sufficient headroom, with a trunk volume of 487 liters, expandable to 1320 liters with the rear seats down.

Additionally, to enhance user convenience, Toyota engineers have optimized the vehicle's threshold height and trunk opening design, balancing practicality and ease of access for children. The Corolla Cross boasts a higher driving position, which aids visibility and reduces blind spots.

In terms of safety features, the new model does not cut corners; it comes equipped with eight airbags and standard Toyota Safety Sense, which includes a blind spot monitoring system and rear collision warning system.

For powertrain options, the Corolla Cross offers both gasoline and hybrid variants. The entry-level model is powered by a 1.8-liter 2ZR-FBE gasoline engine, producing a maximum output of 104kW and peak torque of 175Nm, utilizing a CVT transmission. The hybrid system features the 2ZR-FXE THS II engine, with the gasoline engine generating a maximum power of 72kW and an electric motor outputting 53kW, for a combined system output of 90kW, also paired with a CVT transmission.
