Toyota has confirmed that it will soon launch three electric vehicles in European markets in 2026, and has teased fans with images showing the features of these vehicles. Although the images are unclear, one of them looks like the 2023 Land Cruiser SE concept, and another resembles the 2021 bZ concept. As for the pickup, we're not sure whether it's an electric Hilux or a completely new truck.
Toyota Electric Vehicles
We often see hybrid Toyota vehicles on the market, but we rarely see fully electric versions. Among Toyota's electric models is the bZ4X, a facelifted version of which was revealed last week with a power upgrade.
As for the new models that will be launched in European markets, Toyota hasn't revealed any further details about the three electric vehicles coming in the next two years, but the images it has released give us a glimpse of what's to come. On the right, we see a sporty coupe-shaped SUV with very sharp lines, a black roof, and long taillights that emphasize the car's aggressive sporty appearance. As we mentioned earlier, it resembles the Land Cruiser SE concept that Toyota revealed in 2023, although little information was released at the time. Other than that, it features three rows of seats and is electric.
In the middle is an electric pickup truck, reminiscent of the Toyota EPU concept, also revealed by Toyota in 2023. The vehicle on the far left looks like a stylish wagon shaped SUV, possibly a production version of the bZ concept large SUV, which we saw in 2021.
Toyota's Moves This Week
Toyota has been moving rapidly toward electrifying its vehicles recently. Just this week, Lexus unveiled the F Sport version of its electric Lexus RZ and, as we mentioned, the bZ4X facelift. In the next ten years, Toyota is on track to launch more than 10 electric vehicles. Although it has received much criticism for being slow to transition to electric vehicles, Toyota is a leading manufacturer of hybrid vehicles, and its best-selling and highly sought-after vehicles include the RAV4, Camry, and C-HR Hybrid.
In addition to investing in its electric and hybrid vehicles, Toyota has also been investing in hydrogen fuel cell vehicles. Toyota offers a number of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles in some markets, but their availability in the UAE is limited due to the lack of hydrogen fueling stations.
The most popular hydrogen car from Toyota is the Toyota Mirai, which runs on hydrogen fuel cell technology and produces electricity to power the engine, making it environmentally friendly as its only emissions are water.
As for electric vehicles, Toyota plans to make 50% of its sales electric by 2030.
As of March 2025, Toyota has not officially confirmed its plans to launch its upcoming electric vehicles in the UAE and the wider Gulf region. However, the growing use of electric vehicles in the UAE and neighboring countries indicates a favorable environment for their future launch. The Gulf states will certainly welcome Toyota's electric vehicles, given the Arab world's love for the company and its reliability. We eagerly await what Toyota will unveil in the coming years and the day it announces the launch of its electric models in the UAE.
