Toyota has recently adopted Mazda's Soul Red Crystal color in its new 2025 Corolla Cross, recognized as one of the best color options among automakers. This color perfectly integrates with Mazda's design language, emphasizing its curves and shining brightly under the sunlight. Toyota has a fondness for this unique red, leading to its inclusion in their vehicle lineup.
Notably, the Toyota Corolla Cross is manufactured in the same Alabama plant where the Mazda CX-50 is produced. Thanks to the close collaboration between the two Japanese companies, Toyota offers the Soul Red Crystal color for the gasoline models LE and XLE, as well as the hybrid versions Hybrid SE and XSE. It is the only model in the Toyota family available in this color.
Although Toyota has not released official images of the new Corolla Cross in Soul Red Crystal, it has re-shared images of the old 2023 Corolla Cross painted in Barcelona Red with a Jet Black roof. Interestingly, the Barcelona Red has been dropped from the color palette, making way for Mazda's alternative color. The 2025 models also offer a variety of other colors, including Jet Black, Celestial, Chill Wind Pearl, Metallic Crash Blue, Sonic Silver, and Cypress.
In addition to the paint update, Toyota has made minor adjustments to the 2025 Corolla Cross. The L and S trims come standard with matte black mirror caps, a shark fin antenna, and redesigned exterior AWD and HEV badges.
Two familiar engine options remain. The first is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine paired with a CVT, producing 169 horsepower and available with either front-wheel or all-wheel drive. There is also a hybrid version consisting of a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, a lithium-ion battery, and three electric motors, making a total of 196 horsepower.
The 2025 Corolla Cross is expected to hit Toyota dealerships in late December 2024. Prices for the gasoline models start at $24,035 for the front-wheel drive L trim, while hybrid models start at $28,395 for the all-wheel drive S trim and go up to $31,580 for the hybrid XSE trim.
