Renault has officially introduced its latest electric vehicle, the Renault 5 E-Tech, at the Geneva Motor Show. This model aims to revive the classic Renault 5 from the 1970s, modernized with an electric platform and a driving range of nearly 400 kilometers on a single charge.
Notably, the car is priced competitively, starting at $27,100 (around 101,000 SAR), positioning it among the most affordable electric vehicles in the European market today.
Classic Design Meets Modern Interior
The car features a nostalgic design, with LED graphics on the headlights reminiscent of human eyes and vertical taillights inspired by the original Renault 5.
The interior combines traditional elements with vibrant modern touches, including a 10.1-inch touchscreen for entertainment, a digital dashboard, and a smart AI assistant tailored for driver and passenger convenience. It also includes the latest safety and assistance systems from Renault.
Performance and Range
The new Renault 5 E-Tech will feature a single electric motor available in three power outputs: 95 hp, 122 hp, and 150 hp, paired with a 52 kWh battery that provides a range of 400 kilometers per charge.
Renault has meticulously tuned the chassis for an exceptional driving experience, ensuring agility through a multi-link rear suspension and a low center of gravity.
The Renault 5 E-Tech will compete against models such as the Volkswagen ID.2, Peugeot E-208, Mini Electric, and Fiat 500e in the European market.
