The automotive industry welcomes a significant announcement as the fourth generation of the Suzuki Dzire small sedan was officially launched in India on November 11. This all-new model not only brings a plethora of updates but also includes design enhancements, new features, and a completely new 1.2-liter Z-series gasoline engine.
In recent years, the small sedan market in India has faced declining sales due to the rapid rise in demand for SUVs and crossovers. In this competitive landscape, the Dzire will face rivals such as the Honda Amaze, Hyundai Aura, and Tata Tigor. Suzuki has high hopes for this new model, aiming to reignite small car sales in the country.
Here’s a quick look at the highlights of the 2024 Suzuki Dzire.
Major Design Upgrades
The 2024 Suzuki Dzire comes with a comprehensive redesign, especially noticeable at the front and rear. The grille has been enlarged, inspired by the Toyota Innova Crysta, while the headlights feature integrated LED units and daytime running lights. The fog light covers also boast a new design, and the front bumper has been revamped. Moving to the side profile, the car's wheels showcase a new design, and at the rear, the redesigned LED tail lights are eye-catching.
Sunroof and 360-Degree Camera
The interior of the new Suzuki Dzire has also been refreshed with new design elements and features. Among the standout additions is the sunroof, a first for the Dzire. Additionally, the new sedan is equipped with a touchscreen infotainment system inspired by Baleno, featuring a newly added 360-degree high-definition camera. Other features include automatic climate control and a newly designed instrument cluster.
For the first time, the Suzuki Dzire has achieved a five-star safety rating in global crash tests from the New Car Assessment Program, making it one of the safest cars in India. The new Dzire is equipped with six airbags, a 360-degree high-definition camera, ABS with EBD, tire pressure monitoring system, EPS with vehicle stability control, among others.
All-New Engine
The 2024 Suzuki Dzire sedan draws power from the same 1.2-liter three-cylinder gasoline engine from the Z-series, which is also found in the current generation of the Suzuki Swift. This engine replaces the previous 1.2-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine. The Z12E engine produces a maximum power of 80 horsepower and a peak torque of 111.7 Nm. The car offers a five-speed manual transmission and a five-speed automatic transmission, along with a dual-fuel engine option that runs on both gasoline and natural gas.
