After two years of development, the Renault 4 has finally stepped out of the shadows and is now showcased in its production version. This model is seen as the 'family version' of the Renault 5 E-Tech.
The R4 is the second car from Renault in the Iconic series, with the Twizy expected to join the lineup in 2026. Renault continues its approach of offering iconic models to support its transition to electric mobility. Following the launch of the Renault 5 as an electric city car, here comes the Renault 4 E-Tech, which serves as an electric alternative to the urban SUV Captur.
The R4 and R5 share the AmpR small platform, which will be produced in northern France. To ensure success, Renault has incorporated design touches that pay homage to the successful model that ran from 1961 to 1993, while also integrating modern technology with a unique one-piece rear light array measuring 1.45 meters wide.
Additionally, practical features include a 61 cm threshold for the trunk and roof bars. The result is striking, thanks to bright colors including Hauts de France Green or a dual-tone combination of bright red and black, showcasing the car's dual personality.
The R4 will be as practical as it is stylish and modern. Versatility has indeed led to the car's success, dubbed the 'blue jeans' for its multifaceted appearance, which is expected to be Renault's winning card once again.
The vehicle will feature only electric motors with two power levels: 120 horsepower with a 40 kWh battery and 150 horsepower with a 52 kWh battery, offering a range of up to 400 kilometers, with a price likely around 30,000 euros.
