In recent years, Nissan has been struggling due to many problems, including the Carlos Ghosn affair, and also its difficulty in adapting to the sudden market shift towards electric vehicles. As Nissan tries to get up again, it has announced its plan to launch more than 18 new models in the coming months, including hybrids and fully electric vehicles. It has also just unveiled the new generation of the Nissan Leaf, with a modern and eye-catching design. It seems that Nissan's designers will focus on futuristic and sleek aesthetics.

The new Nissan Leaf will be one of Nissan's first upcoming releases. As we know it, it's an electric car, but it has now been revived with a youthful and futuristic design. If we compare the version Nissan has just revealed with the old Nissan Leaf, I think this is the most beautiful transformation a car has ever undergone. Its previous design was really sickening to me, making it look like a boring vehicle made only to be used by mothers who have annoying kids.

The old-gen Nissan Leaf was first released in 2010, and it was one of the best-selling electric cars in the world. It retained the same design for 15 years, with only one facelift. However, even with this update, Nissan Leaf has gone forgotten with the fast-paced development the EV market has witnessed. Hence, it really needed this sudden change, a smart move from Nissan, which has recently become weak in its fierce competition with electric cars, especially Chinese ones, to stay alive.

The new Nissan Leaf will certainly be larger, more SUV-shaped, without abandoning its efficiency, in order to attract buyers in the United States. If that’s the case, it will undoubtedly appeal to the Arab markets, which love family crossovers.

It will be built on a slightly smaller version of the Nissan Ariya's electric platform, called CMF-EV.

The Nissan Leaf, Nissan's first attempt in its efforts to join the world of electric vehicles, will be followed by an electric version of the Nissan Micra, which will be built on the Renault 5 electric platform. We also expect the release of a seven-seater SUV, also electric.

The Nissan Leaf will join Nissan's production line in late 2025, and the company will soon announce more information about prices, battery power, and electric range.

The company will also reveal an update to the Pathfinder model and a new Sentra. But what I am really excited to see is the hybrid version of the popular X-Trail. I have been driving one since 2019, and so far, the car did not require anything but its regular maintenance. It is comfortable, practical, reliable, durable, and also economical. It is truly one of the most successful family cars, and I can't get used to any other car because of how much I love it. So, the idea of a hybrid version excites me.

I really hope Nissan recovers, as it has always made reliable cars with reasonable prices and great capabilities. It is unfortunate to see the company in danger of downfall, despite all the successes it has achieved throughout history, due to a change in the markets that was imposed on it and other well-known manufacturers.

It's good to see the company finally getting back on its feet and preparing to launch electric models at last. Electric cars are actually very suitable for daily use, more so than internal combustion engine cars (although I can’t accept an electric sports car)., especially for use in cities. They are quiet, powerful, and the idea of charging them at night for use during the day is convenient and economical. They even relieve you of engine maintenance costs. However, as they are still new, they remain expensive for some compared to regular cars, and since the development of a specific technology takes many years, we still see some worrying problems with them, such as "range anxiety" and the weakening of battery life over time.
