In Saudi Arabia, "SIR" stands as the first electric vehicle brand, collaborating with Rimac Technology to deliver high-performance Electric Drive Systems (EDS) for the upcoming lineup of electric vehicles. The formal announcement of this partnership took place during a signing ceremony at Rimac's headquarters in Croatia, attended by Rimac Technology CEO Mati Rimac and SIR Motors CEO James De Luca.
De Luca stated: "We are excited to be the first major company in the Gulf Cooperation Council to partner with Rimac Technology in equipping SIR's leading models with the latest high-performance electric drive systems and solutions. Rimac's global reputation in high-performance electric motor system design aligns perfectly with our strategic goals to partner with industry leaders worldwide as we commit to delivering world-class high-performance electric vehicles and revolutionizing the automotive industry in Saudi Arabia."
The partnership with SIR marks another evolution for Rimac, transitioning from limited-run high-performance cars like the Nivera, Pininfarina Battista, Aston Martin Valkyrie, and Koenigsegg Regera to large-scale production. Earlier this year, Rimac announced a long-term collaboration with BMW Group to supply high-voltage battery systems for its passenger cars and signed multiple agreements for mid-to-large-scale European OEM manufacturing projects. This latest project with SIR, Rimac's first partnership in the Gulf Cooperation Council, represents another significant expansion of Rimac's products focused on electric drive systems and their related software.
Mati Rimac commented: "The cooperation with SIR enhances Rimac's ambitions in the global electric vehicle market. This year alone, we have announced several key partnerships, including with BMW Group and SIR, which will lead to the production of tens of thousands of electric drive systems and battery systems for the world. With more exciting projects in the pipeline, we have strategically invested in our production facilities and supporting infrastructure in Croatia, which will soon operate at full capacity."
