The Saudi Public Roads Authority has announced the successful completion of maintenance work on the Riyadh to Bisha road, aimed at enhancing user travel experience and aligning with national road strategy objectives.
This maintenance work covers over 22 kilometers of roadway, involving milling and repaving more than 21,000 cubic meters of asphalt. Additionally, over 3,700 traffic safety markers (cat eyes) have been successfully installed, with road markings extending over 22 kilometers.
Moreover, speed bumps have been implemented along over 22 kilometers of this road to enhance driving safety, supporting the strategic goals of the Public Roads Authority to achieve the sixth indicator in road quality. The plan aims to reduce road fatalities to five by the year 2030, further improving road safety and quality.
In addition, the Public Roads Authority has been awarded two project management summit awards in recognition of its excellence in the transformation of maintenance contracts and asset management. The agency received first place in asset management transformation, which is based on the highest international practices and standards, aimed at enhancing the efficiency of road asset management and improving quality and safety.
Furthermore, the Public Roads Authority also secured third place in the performance-based maintenance contract transformation, aimed at improving spending efficiency, enhancing road quality, and promoting innovation and the application of modern technologies.
