Al-Dalami mentioned that the opening of the eastern corridor in Riyadh will help shift truck traffic and reduce congestion. Additionally, he addressed the second ring road in Jeddah, which ensures that truck movements are directed outside the city.
He elaborated on how the Saudi road code contributes to keeping pace with changes and supports future transportation patterns. Furthermore, maintenance contracts have shifted to performance-based agreements. He also highlighted the adoption of modern equipment for recycling road layers, which has accelerated maintenance processes by 40%, while also preserving the environment and enhancing spending efficiency.
To enable logistics services, the kingdom has taken special consideration for transporting oversized, indivisible loads through the issuance of exceptional load permits.
