Recently, the Saudi Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) has launched an innovative service aimed at providing convenience for individual importers, allowing them to independently import personal vehicles through customs ports.

According to the new regulations, Saudi citizens are permitted to import up to two vehicles per year, adhering to relevant customs duties; whereas expatriates residing in the country can import only one vehicle every three years, and are prohibited from selling it within that period. This initiative aims to simplify customs procedures and enhance service efficiency, enabling individuals to directly complete the required steps via the official website.

As per ZATCA's statement, users must first register on the website (zatca.gov.sa), and upon registration, they can access the 'Vehicle Import Service' and create a new application by filling in vehicle details, submitting customs declarations, and uploading necessary documents. The service is optional, providing flexibility for users who wish to utilize it.

Additionally, ZATCA has published a detailed user guide on its website, offering step-by-step instructions for submitting personal vehicle import applications and comprehensive information about the service. Interested users can also visit a dedicated webpage to learn about the detailed import regulations applicable to individuals across all categories.
