In September 2023, Chery announced the start of reservations for the 2025 Tiggo 9 and Tiggo 9 C-DM, which are available in three variants, with a starting price of 155,900 yuan (approximately $22,000) and two variants starting at 169,900 yuan (about $24,000). As the flagship SUV of the Tiggo series, the 2025 Tiggo 9 has been updated in terms of appearance and variants, with an official launch event scheduled for September 25.
The vehicle adopts a design language known as 'Soft Lighting Aesthetics', featuring a hexagonal grille, prominent lights, and multi-faceted rims. Notably, the lower front has undergone a design change. The 2025 models maintain the same dimensions: 4820 mm in length, 1930 mm in width, and 1699 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2820 mm.
Power comes from a 2.0-liter engine paired with a 7-speed DCT or 8-speed automatic transmission, producing 257 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque. The vehicle offers three driving modes: Economy, Standard, and Sport, with front-wheel drive available for all variants.
Inside, the 2025 Chery Tiggo 9 is equipped with a D-shaped multifunction steering wheel, and the dashboard and central control screen feature a dual-screen layout. The interior comes with a 2+3 seating configuration for five seats, and a 2+3+2 configuration for seven seats available for selection.
Other features include a panoramic sunroof, electric tailgate, rain-sensitive automatic wipers, six-way electric adjustment for the driver's seat, and four-way electric adjustment for the passenger seat. The front seats have heating functions, equipped with rear parking radar and advanced driving assistance features, as well as Apple CarPlay and 50W wireless charging. The vehicle also boasts ambient lighting, remote control, eight speakers, and an AI system for interaction in the driving cabin.
The design of the Tiggo 9 C-DM resembles that of the 2025 Tiggo 9, with the only difference being the addition of two new colors and the C-DM badge at the rear to indicate the vehicle's identity. The vehicle's dimensions are 4820 mm in length, 1930 mm in width, and 1712 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2820 mm, making it slightly longer than the 2025 Tiggo 9.
Power comes from a hybrid system consisting of a 1.5-liter internal combustion engine, a front electric motor, and a three-speed DHT transmission, with a lithium-ion battery capacity of 19.43 kWh. The engine produces 154 horsepower and 220 Nm of torque, while the electric motor generates 221 horsepower and 390 Nm of torque. The acceleration time from 0 to 100 km/h is 8.8 seconds, with a pure electric range of 106 km. The WLTC comprehensive driving range with a full tank and full charge exceeds 1400 km. In fast charging mode, it takes 25 minutes to charge the battery from 30% to 80%, while slow charging takes 3.5 hours.
