Recently, RAM initiated a massive recall in the U.S., involving 317,630 trucks due to a potential failure in the hydraulic braking system, which could lead to brake failure. The occurrence of this issue may render both the Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and the electronic stability and traction control systems inoperative.

This recall affects various models from 2017 and 2018, including the 2500, 3500, 4500, and 5500 series trucks.

The recall report states that these trucks are equipped with a control unit that is prone to malfunction. Government reports indicate that this issue could lead to the failure of the ABS and traction control systems, evolving into a permanent problem.

If this failure occurs, drivers may face accident risks with no warning other than the illumination of the ABS warning light. An investigation into the matter has been underway in the U.S. for two years, in cooperation with Fiat Chrysler Automobiles to explore the potential causes.
