INEOS Grenadier is facing some production issues. INEOS has halted the assembly line at its plant in Hambach, France, resulting in the stoppage of Grenadier production. Additionally, the production of the Grenadier Quartermaster pickup has also decreased, and this situation may persist until 2025.

Clearly, the issue does not stem from the company itself, nor is it a mechanical failure. The reason for the shutdown is a supplier that manufactures a crucial part. INEOS has not disclosed the name of the supplier, and the nature of the part remains unknown. However, the matter is significant enough that there appears to be no alternative solution to resume operations.

The supplier in question is likely Recaro. A company official stated that the specific supplier was in a pre-bankruptcy position. Recaro Automotive filed for bankruptcy at the end of July, indicating “significant financial difficulties due to severe price increases in recent years and the loss of a major contract.” The company planned to continue producing seats and fulfilling current orders during bankruptcy. It remains unclear if anything has changed since then.

The production line in Hambach is facing a critical shortage of components beyond the company's control, causing our production schedule to stop. Automotive supply chains are always complex and challenging, but this is happening at a particularly busy time for the company. The brand has launched its vehicles in more than 45 countries around the world and is entering new key markets like Mexico and China this month. The company aims to produce 200,000 vehicles.

A company official stated that they are working under a conservative scenario that would allow them to return to full production rates by early 2025.
