Volkswagen Teramont is a mid-size SUV built on the Volkswagen MQB platform, produced and sold by SAIC Volkswagen in China under a joint venture model. This vehicle's dimensions surpass those of the Volkswagen Touareg, with a length, width, and height of 5039mm, 1989mm, and 1773mm, respectively, and a wheelbase of 2980mm, closely resembling the Audi Q7. In the domestic SUV market, SAIC Volkswagen's Tiguan Si Road Edition and Tiguan L primarily target the mid-size SUV and smaller segments, while in the mid-size SUV market, it competes mainly with models like the Ford Explorer and Toyota Highlander. To secure a place in this field, SAIC Volkswagen launched the Tuon model. The Tuon offers a 2.0T turbocharged 4-cylinder engine and a 2.5T turbocharged 6-cylinder engine, with the 2.0T engine available in high and low power versions, producing maximum power of 186 hp and 220 hp, and peak torque of 320 Nm and 350 Nm, respectively; the 2.5T engine delivers a maximum power of 299 hp with a peak torque of 500 Nm. In terms of transmission, it is equipped with a 7-speed wet dual-clutch transmission identified as DQ500. The Tuon 380 TSI is equipped with a high-power 2.0T engine and supports an all-wheel-drive system, while the Tuon 330 TSI features a lower-powered 2.0T engine suitable for two-wheel-drive models.
