Hyundai has officially unveiled the newly redesigned Palisade, marking the start of a new era for this large SUV. After six years on the market, this vehicle has undergone significant changes not just in appearance but across all aspects. The new Palisade adopts a more modern design, with a spacious and luxurious interior. The exterior of the new car features sharper lines, replacing the traditional round elements of the previous model. Like the smaller Santa Fe, the Palisade showcases a greater sense of luxury. The simple yet powerful design lines give the vehicle a more commanding presence. The front fascia is equipped with large vertical LED light units surrounding a vertical grille.
The dimensions of the vehicle have been adjusted thanks to a longer wheelbase, providing a better balance in proportions. The design of the rear lights is also inspired by Range Rover, particularly in the shape of the light clusters. Hyundai's designers have chosen a more luxurious style for the Palisade, with aluminum touches around the body and a roof rack, as well as 21-inch multi-spoke wheels.
The new car is expected to exceed 5 meters in length, making it comparable to the fully electric Ioniq 9, with a luxurious interior space. The interior design is inspired by high-end furniture, featuring two 12.3-inch digital displays presented in a curved dashboard design. The screens are now better integrated into the dashboard, and the gear selector has been moved from the center console to the steering column to provide more space, while the controls for climate and other basic functions remain in their original positions.
The air conditioning vents, round door handles, and brown interior trim reflect Hyundai's luxury design language. Additional luxury features include the center console, a Range Rover-style steering wheel with wooden accents, and ambient lighting design.
According to Hyundai, the three-row seating design can now accommodate up to nine passengers, thanks to the new center console that also serves as a middle seat in the front row. It is unclear whether it will be offered in markets outside of Korea. The second row features individual seats, while third-row passengers benefit from improved comfort and visibility.
While Hyundai has not released specific technical specifications, sources indicate that the new Palisade will offer a 2.5-liter four-cylinder hybrid version alongside a 3.5-liter turbocharged V6 engine. Sales are expected to begin in Korea, Hyundai's home market, followed by other regions including North America.
