During MONDIAL DE L'AUTO 2024, the Hongqi luxury car brand unveiled its fully electric EH7 sedan and EHS7 SUV, announcing the start of pre-sales in the European market. Both models are built on the FME platform, with currently only one version available for each model.
The starting price for the EH7 is $54,650, while the EHS7 begins at $59,000. The EH7 is available in five versions in the Chinese market, with prices ranging from $32,400 to $43,700, while the EHS7 has not been launched in China yet. The EH7 is a mid-to-large fully electric sedan with dimensions of 4980mm (length), 1915mm (width), and 1490mm (height), with a wheelbase of 3000mm.
The EHS7 measures 4925mm in length, 1950mm in width, and 1680mm in height, with the same wheelbase of 3000mm. Both cars feature similar interior designs, equipped with a 6-inch dashboard and a 15.5-inch infotainment screen, controlled by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip, along with a heads-up display. Both vehicles use a single electric motor with a power output of 253 kW on the rear axle, while the dual-motor versions add a 202 kW motor on the front axle, achieving a maximum torque of 756 Nm, allowing the EH7 to accelerate in 3.9 seconds.
The EH7 offers battery options of 75, 85, and 111 kWh, providing a range between 600 and 820 kilometers, with the EHS7 expected to offer similar battery capacity but with lower ranges. Fast charging from 30% to 80% takes just 17 minutes. Despite the commencement of pre-sales in Europe, it remains unclear when the official launch and deliveries will take place. Notably, both models were previously showcased at the Goodwood Festival.
