The L5 is a four-door sedan with a distinctive design language. Its design serves as a significant nod to the famous presidential limousine in China, the Hong Qi CA770, featuring the same round headlights and a wide rectangular chrome grille. At the top of the hood, the L5 features a red stripe and the Hong Qi logo, with more Hong Qi logos on the front fenders.
The car measures 5980 mm in length, 2090 mm in width, and 1710 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3730 mm. It is 411 mm longer, 19 mm narrower, and 20 mm taller than the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class. Its curb weight is 3150 kg, while the gross weight is 3550 kg. Only four people can sit inside the car at the same time.
The L5 is powered by a 4-liter engine producing 387 horsepower. It is manufactured by the FAW Group, but the car is designed by Hong Qi. The L5 can reach a top speed of 220 km/h.
