In the wave of the automotive industry, LUCID is riding high. According to Faisal Sultan, Vice President and Managing Director of LUCID Middle East, the company's Saudi plant is witnessing a new production peak. Although many automotive manufacturers have faced varying degrees of challenges post-COVID, the market is gradually recovering, and LUCID is no exception.
He stated, “We are on track to produce over 10,000 cars annually. If demand is strong, this target can be exceeded, but we will closely monitor demand in different global regions and adjust our production schedules accordingly.”
With economic development, the factory located in Jeddah is also actively operating. Last year, production commenced here with an annual capacity of 5,000 vehicles. As we plan to expand into Gulf Cooperation Council countries, this capacity will be increasingly utilized. The plant operates on an SKD basis, where all components come from Arizona and are then assembled in Jeddah. The initial progress was slow because we wanted to train the workforce in Saudi Arabia and send them to Arizona for skills enhancement, so they could become a part of the assembly process.
