Lotus, renowned for its high-performance sports cars, marks its entry into the electric SUV market with the launch of the Lotus Eletre, which signifies a step up in the current standards of electric SUVs with its "ultra-luxury" design.
The Lotus Eletre joins Uber Green
In 2021, Uber introduced a green option, priced the same as Uber X, as a way for passengers to choose an eco-friendly ride. To date, Uber Green has not only reduced carbon emissions by 55,000 tons in London but has also provided drivers of the green fleet with an additional 10% in earnings.
Adding the Lotus Eletre to Uber's green fleet offers users yet another "luxurious electric vehicle" travel option. Who wouldn't want to experience what it feels like to ride in a luxurious SUV?
The Engine of the Lotus Eletre
Though distinct from Lotus's iconic classic sports cars, the Lotus Eletre has carved out its own niche. Not only does it feature sleek body lines and a luxurious interior design, but the base model Eletre and the Eletre S also boast a dual-motor system, delivering 603 horsepower with an acceleration from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.5 seconds, and a range of 315 miles.
The performance variant, the Eletre R, offers a robust 905 horsepower and can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.95 seconds. However, this power comes at a cost, as its range per charge is only 260 miles.
The collaboration between Uber and Lotus not only encourages people to embrace green transportation, but also provides significant exposure to the Lotus Eletre. Thus, this partnership can be considered a win-win for both parties.
