The Saudi Public Transport Authority recently announced the official launch of the first public bus route on the beautiful Farasan Island, a pioneering initiative within the region's public transport project. This milestone event was witnessed by the Governor of Farasan Island, Abdullah Al-Dhafri, along with the Director General of Passenger Transport Sector, Dr. Rayan Al-Hazmi, and the Assistant Mayor of Jazan, Ibrahim Kariri.
This new public transport route will not only provide diverse travel options for the residents of Jazan but also create new job opportunities, enhance safety, and ensure the provision of regulated and safe transport means, thereby improving the quality of life. The Jazan region encompasses Jazan, Sabya, and Abu Arish, with a total of 9 routes. The route will operate for 18 hours daily, covering a distance of 360 km, equipped with 47 buses, 94 stops, and 94 drivers.
