Land Rover has recently revealed its latest special edition of the Range Rover, tailored specifically for the Australian market. Known as the Range Rover SV Orpheus, this edition is limited to just six units, and it promises to captivate with its unique design inspired by a remote island.
Owners of this limited-production vehicle will receive an unconventional gift. They will be presented with a replica of a statue depicting an Indigenous woman named Jamie Marshall. The original statue stands 2.2 meters tall and is currently submerged off the coast of North Queensland, crafted by British sculptor Jason deCaires Taylor as a symbol of protection for the Great Barrier Reef.
As the name suggests, the Range Rover features many touches that reference Orpheus Island in Queensland, Australia. The exterior is painted in a brilliant blue, complemented by a silver roof. This luxury SUV rides on 23-inch alloy wheels in a dark gray with satin black accents, while the Range Rover letters are in metallic black, further adorned with silver chrome touches.
Inside, the vehicle boasts plush leather seats in a Berlino color with matching seatbelts, a bespoke steering wheel, and white ceramic controls, while the trim at the top of the cabin harmonizes with the exterior color accents. To add an extra level of exclusivity, owners can further customize the upholstery and embroidery on the seats.
The special edition features a 4.4-liter V8 mild hybrid engine with twin-turbochargers, producing 570 horsepower and 750 Nm of torque, allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds.
The special edition is expected to be unveiled to an exclusive audience at a luxurious residence on Orpheus Island in North Queensland. This invite-only destination will serve as the home for a luxury resort, with the unveiling scheduled between November 29 and December 5, 2024.
While the company has not disclosed whether the six available units have already been reserved, it is believed that there is still a chance to purchase one, with a starting price of $339,000.
