Rising from the ashes of Fisker Automotive, the niche Southern California automaker Karma Automotive recently launched a performance model, Karma Invictus. The vehicle largely retains the styling of the Revero but traces its roots back to the 2012 Fisker Karma, followed by the Karma GS-6.
Karma Invictus Builds on Revero
Before introducing the Karma Invictus, let's first take a look at the previous Karma Revero. The Revero, the first model released by Karma Automotive upon entering the market, is an extended range electric vehicle (EREV) featuring a 28 kWh battery and an 80-mile range.
In terms of engine, the battery works in conjunction with dual motors and a turbocharged three-cylinder engine. With 536 horsepower and 550 pound-feet of torque, the Revero can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.5 seconds, making it a true sports sedan.

The newly launched Karma Invictus builds on the Revero by incorporating a series of modifications that reduce weight and thus enhance overall vehicle performance. For instance, the new model utilizes integrated louver vents to actively relieve pressure in the front wheel arches, improving airflow management.
Moreover, Karma has equipped the Invictus with racing-grade Öhlins coils and Swift springs and has optimized steering to offer more directness and controllability during extreme driving.
Regarding the power system, the Invictus features a plug-in hybrid system powered by a turbocharged 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine that drives dual motors on the rear axle. The system generates a total of 536 horsepower and 550 pound-feet of torque, improving the 0-60 mph acceleration time to just 3.97 seconds.
Karma to produce only 30 Invictus
In the realm of high-performance vehicles, exclusivity is paramount, and the Karma Collection marks the automaker's recent foray into this segment. Previously, the production of the Revero was capped at 3,000 units, but the Invictus dramatically reduces this figure.
It is reported that the Invictus will be crafted in Moreno, California, where master craftsmen will attend to the final details. Each model will offer customization options, some of which are yet unnamed.
However, specifics regarding the price, delivery timelines, and model details have not yet been released, and we await official announcements.
As a niche luxury electric vehicle manufacturer, Karma Automotive has experienced significant highs and lows in a relatively short period. The American automaker commenced production of the Revero in 2016 with a plan to produce 3,000 units. However, less than three years later, due to safety concerns, Karma issued a recall and a stop-sale order for all Revero vehicles.
This new launch of the Invictus, which builds upon the foundation of the Revero, represents not just a challenge but also a significant opportunity. The future performance of this model will truly test its mettle.
