Previously, Mazda unveiled the EZ-6 sedan at the Beijing(China) Auto Show, the launch of which marks the brand's official entry into the field of electric vehicles, which will also replace the previously retired Mazda6 in the Chinese market.
The exterior design of the new Mazda EZ-6 showcases familiar styling cues from the brand, yet it is engineered on the advanced Changan EPA1 platform, which is versatile enough to support various electric sedan and SUV models from Changan, Mazda's strategic partner in China.
Hybrid Option for the Mazda EZ-6
Mazda has revealed plans to commence production of the EZ-6 in collaboration with Changan before the year ends. Notably, the vehicle will be offered in a plug-in hybrid variant alongside the all-electric model, an exciting addition that expands its appeal.
The electric version of the EZ-6 boasts an impressive electric range of 600 kilometers, while the hybrid variant will provide an outstanding total range of 1000 kilometers, catering to diverse driving needs.
Anticipated Performance and Features
The electric powertrain is expected to share components with Changan's Deepal SL03, delivering a robust 255 horsepower and 320 Nm of torque. Details regarding the hybrid variant's specifications are yet to be disclosed.
Inside, the EZ-6 impresses with a 14.6-inch infotainment system, a 10.2-inch digital gauge cluster, a stylish flat-bottom steering wheel, ambient lighting for a luxurious feel, advanced parking sensors, and intuitive voice command capabilities for seamless control of various features.
