The 2025 Kia Sportage compact crossover carries over with a starting price of $28,565, including destination fees. The hybrid models are a bargain compared to the Toyota RAV4 and Honda CR-V. The top-tier 2025 Kia Sportage X-Line Prestige plug-in hybrid costs $45,565.

The 2025 Kia Sportage compact crossover continues into the new year with slight price adjustments, either up or down by $100 depending on the model. According to Kia's announcement, the 2025 Sportage LX starts at $28,565, with an additional $1,375 destination fee, while the LX hybrid is priced $1,400 higher.

Keeping prices steady marks a change from the 2024 Sportage, where gas models saw at least an $800 increase, while hybrid and plug-in hybrid models were at least $1,000 more with minor changes.

The only real changes include a new Premium Package with a sunroof and hands-free tailgate available on the EX grade, and the popular blacked-out treatment on the exterior trim and wheels of the X-Line and X-Pro trims.

2025 Kia Sportage Gas Models

Most Sportage models are powered by a 2.5-liter inline-4 engine that produces 187 hp and 178 lb-ft of torque. It features an 8-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive. All-wheel drive costs an additional $1,800 across the lineup, except for X models, where it's standard. Every Kia comes with a 5-year/60,000-mile warranty.

Each Sportage is well-equipped with safety features such as LED headlights with automatic high beams, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection, active lane control, parking sensors, and rear-occupant alert. Standard convenience features include an 8.0-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 12.2-inch digital instrument cluster, and Bluetooth pairing for two phones simultaneously.

It is offered in LX, EX, SX, SX-Prestige, X-Line, X-Pro, and X-Pro Prestige trims.

The $30,665 EX adds 18-inch wheels and gloss black accents to the exterior. Inside, it swaps out cloth upholstery for synthetic leather, and upgrades to a 10-way power driver's seat, heated front seats, dual-zone climate control, and a larger 12.3-inch touchscreen, though it loses wireless connectivity despite adding a wireless smartphone charger. It has blind-spot monitors and a safe-exit warning to alert occupants of a cyclist or car approaching their blind side before exiting the vehicle.

The $34,165 SX model costs $33,915 and cannot be equipped with AWD, but it includes luxurious features like navigation-based adaptive cruise control and a Harman Kardon sound system. Spice it up even further with the SX Prestige that adds 19-inch wheels, premium synthetic leather upholstery, a power passenger seat, heated and cooled front seats, a heated steering wheel, and parking sensors. It checks out at $36,165 and can be equipped with AWD for an additional $1,800.

The $33,465 X-Line and $37,665 X-Pro come standard with AWD, and while the X-Line's blacked-out trim pieces resemble the X-Pro, the X-Pro offers more off-road capability. It features 17-inch wheels wrapped in BF Goodrich all-terrain tires and a locking center differential for off-road power on uneven, rutted paths.

2025 Kia Sportage Hybrid Models

Kia narrows down the trim offerings in the Sportage Hybrid to LX, EX, and SX-Prestige, and they are equipped similarly to their gas counterparts except for the powertrain. Only the LX comes with front-wheel drive, priced at $29,965. The Hybrid LX with AWD is priced at $31,765.

Not only is the Sportage Hybrid only $1,400 more than the gas model, but it also comes in considerably cheaper than the 2024 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid AWD at $33,075 and the 2025 Honda CR-V Hybrid starting at $35,700 with front-wheel drive.

Hybrid versions feature a 1.6-liter turbo-4 engine paired with an electric motor and a 1.49-kwh lithium-ion battery pack rated at 227 hp. A 6-speed automatic transmission smooths out the power delivery. The Sportage Hybrid rates at 42/44/43 mpg, while AWD lowers the fuel economy to 38 mpg combined.

2025 Kia Sportage Plug-In Hybrid Models

The 2024 Kia Sportage plug-in hybrid comes standard with all-wheel drive and is sold only in off-road related X-Line and X-Line Prestige models. The Sportage PHEV X-Line costs $41,065, while the fully loaded X-Line Prestige costs $45,565.

The Sportage plug-in hybrid uses the same 1.6-liter turbo-4 as the Hybrid but it has a larger electric motor to produce a combined 261 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque. The hybrid system utilizes a 6-speed automatic transmission with a clutch that disengages the engine for full electric power, and the 13.8-kwh battery pack enables 34 miles of electric range. It can be as efficient as the equivalent of 84 mpg, or without electric power, the Sportage PHEV still gets 35 mpg combined.

The extensive 2025 Kia Sportage lineup is set to go on sale soon.
