Currently, there are three mainstream methods for replacing the automatic transmission fluid in Nissan Sylphy.
The first method involves draining and refilling the fluid by removing the drain plug on the transmission.
The second method entails removing the oil pan for fluid replacement. The third method utilizes a modern flushing machine to replace the automatic transmission fluid. The first two methods are commonly used due to their cost-effectiveness and minimal need for additional equipment at repair shops.
However, they do have drawbacks, as traditional gravity draining methods cannot completely replace the transmission fluid, whereas flushing machines can effectively address this limitation.
A flushing machine uses pressure generated by the machine to dynamically change the automatic transmission fluid, achieving over 80% fluid replacement. The operation is straightforward but requires the necessary equipment.
Additionally, traditional methods can only replace about half of the used fluid, while flushing machines can fully replace it, potentially extending the maintenance interval for the transmission fluid.
The CVT transmission oil in the Sylphy is generally maintenance-free for its lifetime, but in practice, it is often replaced every 100,000 kilometers at 4S shops.
The official warranty period for the Sylphy is three years or 100,000 kilometers, with the first two warranty services being free and maintenance intervals set at 5,000 kilometers.
Comprehensive maintenance checks are recommended every 20,000 kilometers.
