In a thrilling move, Genesis has launched its new high-performance sub-brand dubbed “Magma,” showcasing its inaugural sporty model, the electric GV60, adorned in a vibrant orange finish that is sure to turn heads.
Named the "GV60 Magma Prototype," this compact crossover is poised for its grand reveal at the New York Auto Show, with exciting plans for a production model to hit global markets shortly thereafter.
Performance Enhancements with Limited Current Details
While Genesis has kept specific mechanical enhancements under wraps, it’s evident that the GV60 has been fine-tuned to boost motor performance and battery output, promising impressive power and torque figures alongside upgraded suspension and steering mechanisms.
The GV60 Magma has a sportier stance with a lower ride height and increased width compared to the original model, featuring a redesigned front with enlarged air intakes for superior cooling of batteries, brakes, and electric motors.
Additionally, the vehicle is outfitted with new 21-inch wheels and roof fins designed to channel airflow to the rear wing, enhancing downforce and ensuring a firm grip at high speeds. Interior updates reflect the exterior's boldness with orange stitching and seat belts that match the vibrant exterior.
As for the release timeframe for the Genesis GV60, the brand's creative director, Luc Donckerwolke, teased: “Very soon.”
