On social media, Genesis has released an eye-catching teaser image, suggesting that it is about to unveil a hypercar model set to compete in the LMDh endurance racing series.
Legendary racer Jackie Ickx announced the brand's upcoming participation in long-distance racing, with more anticipated details to be revealed at a special event on December 6.
This marks Genesis's official entry into the world of endurance racing, with a new hypercar soon to be unveiled.
The teaser follows the initial announcement from September 2024, with a new video featuring Belgian racing legend Jackie Ickx and another teaser shared on social media.
Jackie Ickx, a six-time winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, stated, "We will be participating in long-distance racing very soon, striving to win as quickly as possible."
He acknowledged that this new era for Genesis in motorsport would not be an easy task, comparing it to climbing numerous mountains.
However, he expressed that the Korean brand has nothing to lose and is filled with confidence.
In the teaser, Ickx appears in front of a miniature model of the Genesis X Gran Brilliance Vision GT, colored in the signature magma orange.
This car debuted in December 2023, followed by the X Gran Racer in June 2024.
Both models are available as digital race cars in Gran Turismo, powered by a V6 electric engine producing 1071 horsepower and 1540 horsepower respectively.
Additionally, Genesis shared a teaser on Instagram depicting a hypercar that can easily be considered LMDh class.
The car features prominent wings and central extensions leading to a massive rear wing.
Its design seems to bring it closer to LMDh race cars rather than the experimental X Gran Racer Vision GT models.
