Geely has announced that its multifunctional electric SUV, the Geely G5, has achieved an impressive milestone of 60,000 deliveries just 119 days after its launch on August 3rd. The delivery figures have been steadily increasing, with 10,000 units delivered in the first 20 days, rapidly rising to 20,000 by day 45, surpassing 30,000 by day 67, and exceeding 50,000 within the first 100 days, demonstrating strong market demand.
The G5 starts at a price of 109,800 yuan (approximately $15,120) and features Geely's Aegis battery and Flyme Auto infotainment system. The vehicle offers eight color options, with dimensions of 4,615 mm in length, 1,901 mm in width, and 1,670 mm in height, along with a wheelbase of 2,750 mm. It offers two battery options—49.52 kWh and 60.22 kWh, with ranges of 440 km and 530 km, respectively. Its electric motor produces 160 kW and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.9 seconds.
Internally, the G5 provides 4.03 square meters of space with 33 storage compartments, featuring unique drawer options beneath the rear vents and seats. The vehicle is based on the GEA platform, derived from the SEA platform, with a drag coefficient of 0.269, which not only lowers the center of gravity but also enhances body rigidity, ensuring a balanced weight distribution of 50:50.
The G5 is equipped with a digital dashboard, central control display, and head-up display. Higher trim levels include front massage seats and a Flyme audio system with 16 speakers, including units mounted on the headrests. The SUV also features unique wheel designs. The vehicle made its global debut in Thailand at the Thai Motor Expo in November and will be sold in countries such as Norway, Australia, and Indonesia.
