The finalists for the European Car of the Year 2025 have been officially announced, initially featuring over 40 models. After a rigorous selection process, the final list excludes the Ford Explorer EV, Mini Cooper SE, Mini Clubman, Polestar 4, MG Cyberster, and Hyundai Santa Fe.
Among the seven candidates in the final list, four are electric vehicles, along with several multi-purpose models. The judges will have eight weeks to determine the winning vehicle, scoring collaboratively to choose the Car of the Year.
The models making it to the final list include Alfa Romeo Giulia, Citroen C3 and its electric version EC3, Cupra Terramar, Dacia Duster, Hyundai Ioniq, Kia EV3, Renault 5 and its Alpine A290 version.
The Renault Scenic E-Tech won the 2023 Car of the Year title, with previous winners including Jeep Avenger, Kia EV6, and Toyota Yaris.
