Ferrari is once again pushing the limits of performance, preparing to unleash a more extreme, lighter, and track focused version of its 296 GTB. Known now as the 296 VS, this new supercar is poised to shake up the high performance world with its stunning combination of raw power, cutting edge technology, and advanced aerodynamics. Following in the footsteps of the legendary 360 Challenge Stradale, 458 Speciale, 488 Pista, and 812 Competizione.
Where Lightweight Meets Brutal Power
Expectations are sky high for the 296 VS, as Ferrari aims to raise the bar with upgraded engineering and aggressive design. At its core, the car is expected to feature a revised version of the 3.0 liter twin turbocharged V6, delivering over 850 horsepower. This places it dangerously close to rivals like the Lamborghini Temerario, which churns out 907 hp.
But raw numbers aren’t the full story. Ferrari’s engineers have also focused on reducing weight and dialing in aerodynamics. Thanks to lightweight materials and a larger standard rear diffuser, the 296 VS promises outstanding grip and high speed control. Wider rear tires will boost traction, while reports suggest the addition of active aero flaps on the rear wing to improve braking and increase rear downforce.
Ferrari Goes Digital for Its Reveal
Ferrari will unveil the 296 VS digitally through its MyFerrari app on April 29 in a bold departure from traditional global debuts. This modern approach reflects the brand’s evolving strategy to directly connect with its elite clientele through personalized digital experiences.
Earlier this year, spy shots captured a camouflaged prototype undergoing testing. Despite the heavy disguise, visible changes included revised front and rear fascias, enhanced aerodynamic detailing, and fresh wheels. These updates point to a race bred aesthetic and performance package that remains fully road legal, a hallmark of Ferrari’s most exclusive offerings.
While pricing remains under wraps, there’s little doubt the 296 VS will carry a significant premium over the standard GTB. Demand, however, is expected to outpace supply quickly, with pre orders likely to fill up before the car even makes its public debut.
