Despite Tesla's initial projection of selling 250,000 units of the Cybertruck annually, demand in the U.S. market has significantly decreased. After approximately 40,000 units were sold, the backlog of orders in the United States was cleared, and Tesla has since shifted its focus to the Canadian market to boost sales.
Cybertruck debuted at Tesla stores across Canada, with a starting price of 138,000 CAD
Recently, as Tesla has shipped vehicles sold to various stores across Canada, there have been numerous sightings of Cybertruck reported online.
Canadian consumers are still only able to order the limited-production Foundation Series Cybertruck model, with prices starting at 137,990 CAD (equivalent to approximately SAR 372,950.68), which is roughly comparable to the model's initial pricing of 102,000 U.S. dollars in the United States. For an upgrade to the more powerful tri-motor Cyberbeast version, one would need to pay 165,990 CAD (equivalent to approximately SAR 448,627.32).
Tesla states that this high-performance version offers slightly less range than the lower-power versions, but it compensates with the ability to accelerate from zero to 60 miles per hour in just 2.7 seconds, an impressive 845 horsepower, and a top speed of 130 miles per hour.
Tesla has not yet announced specific reservation numbers in Canada, but current indications suggest that the reservation volume is not particularly high, as Tesla mentions that if orders are placed now, vehicles can be delivered by the end of the year.
Overall, regardless of how Cybertruck performs in Canada, managing to clear all pre-orders in the United States and sell 40,000 units in less than a year is undoubtedly an impressive achievement.
Although this achievement might not have met Tesla's expectations, after all, in May 2022, Musk stated, "More orders of the first Cybertrucks than we could possibly fulfill for three years after the start of production."
