In Saudi Arabia, a memorandum of cooperation has been officially signed between the Riyadh Municipality and the Saudi Public Roads Authority, aimed at promoting and implementing the Saudi Road Code.
The signing of this agreement was presided over by Secretary-General Faisal bin Abdullah bin Ayaf of the Riyadh region, with the presence of Badr Aldalami, the Executive President of the Saudi Public Roads Authority. The main goal of the agreement is to strengthen collaboration between both parties to ensure the effective application of the Saudi Road Code.
In the future, both parties will work together to study how the standards of the Saudi Road Code can be applied to the design, implementation, and maintenance of existing projects. Furthermore, these standards will also be applied to the design, implementation, and maintenance of new and future projects.
Through this collaboration, the Public Roads Authority will track compliance with the Saudi Road Code across various projects, while the Riyadh Municipality will summarize the challenges faced during implementation and share lessons learned from the process. Additionally, the Public Roads Authority will conduct training workshops on the Saudi Road Code for the employees of the Riyadh Municipality.
