The Saudi Traffic Department recently showcased its powerful participation in the Safety Exhibition at the King Abdulaziz Camel Festival. The department exhibited its achievements in reducing traffic accident rates and enhancing safety awareness.
During this exhibition, which will last until December 31, 2024, the Traffic Management Bureau presented applications of artificial intelligence, electronic services, and electric safety vehicles. Their efforts have led to a 50% reduction in traffic accidents, significantly improving road safety.
Additionally, the exhibition highlighted the impact of traffic violations on road safety, aiming to raise public safety awareness, thus enhancing the quality of life in the community and providing services for digital license plate management.
A classic vehicle with a 72-year history was also displayed, representing the General Directorate of Border Guard. This vehicle was first used in 1952 for ground patrols along the western coast, equipped with four-wheel drive and a three-speed transmission, still operational today, and features a winch for pulling boats in front.
