After four years in the market and selling over 65,000 units, the Citroen Ami has finally undergone exterior design changes. This electric car, which does not require registration, aims to establish itself with a new look while facing significant competition from the Fiat Topolino.
At the 2024 Paris Motor Show, the new Citroen Ami was presented, with three vehicles forming a display that reaches 6 meters high. The new model features an improved front design, with headlights cleverly placed under the windshield, aimed at making the vehicle appear more mature and refined around the oval smiley logo of the brand.
The lines on the plastic body of the vehicle pay tribute to the 2CV models, and although these lines are not as strong as those of the Fiat Topolino, they still show a promising start. Currently, the Ami will be available in a unique Night Sepia color, set to launch in Spring 2024.
It is noted that despite this redesign, design consistency has been maintained between the front and rear, as well as the left and right sides. Citroen presents this as a way to “better control costs by reducing investments.”
This update is mainly cosmetic, as the technical specifications remain unchanged. The car can drive 75 kilometers autonomously, limited to a speed of 45 kilometers per hour, and can be purchased by individuals aged 14 and above without a license, while a license is needed to reach speeds of “80 kilometers per hour.”
