ZEEKR Unveils Its Flagship Full-Size SUV

On March 10, ZEEKR officially announced its upcoming full-size flagship SUV, the ZEEKR 9X, along with a special ZEEKR 9X Grand edition. These new models will join the ZEEKR 009 Grand, forming the brand’s high-end “Grand Series.”

This luxury SUV will feature Hybrid Technology and the Zeekr Intelligent Driving System, with its official debut set for the 2025 Shanghai Auto Show on April 23. The market launch is expected in the third quarter of 2025.

The standard ZEEKR 9X is expected to start at 500,000 RMB (approximately 253,000 AED), while the Grand edition will begin at around 1 million RMB (approximately 506,000 AED).

First Spy Shots of the ZEEKR 9X Grand

Alongside the official announcement, ZEEKR revealed the first-ever spy shots of the ZEEKR 9X Grand test vehicle. Its black-and-gold exterior, enhanced by gold-plating technology, gives the SUV a bold and commanding presence.

The front grille carries over the chrome-heavy design language seen on the ZEEKR 009 Grand, but with a new split-headlight design. A roof-mounted LiDAR sensor suggests advanced autonomous driving capabilities.

From the side, the ZEEKR 9X Grand features:

• Clean, straight body lines

• Flush door handles

• A charging port (or fuel filler cap) above the left rear wheel arch

Reports suggest the ZEEKR 9X measures 5.2 meters in length with a 3.2-meter wheelbase, making it one of the largest luxury SUVs in its class.

Seating configurations will include:

• Standard version: 6-seat and 7-seat layouts

• Grand edition: An exclusive 4-seat luxury setup

While the rear design has not been officially revealed, renderings from Dongchedi indicate the ZEEKR 9X may feature a tailgate design inspired by the BMW X5, with a narrow-top, wide-bottom profile.

Other expected rear design elements include:

• A black rear spoiler

• A full-width LED taillight bar

• A centrally placed brand logo with model badging on the right side

• A license plate positioned in the center of the tailgate

• A black lower bumper with chrome trim accents

Cutting-Edge Tech: NVIDIA Thor & Zeekr Intelligent Driving

The ZEEKR 9X will be the first ZEEKR model to feature NVIDIA’s Thor chipset. According to the company, its self-developed Zeekr Intelligent Driving System has already achieved:

• Nationwide, map-free urban NZP (Navigation on Pilot)

• Drive-to-Drive (D2D) pilot testing, starting soon

• A full rollout expected in April 2025

These technologies will be integrated into ZEEKR’s new flagship SUV, further enhancing its intelligent driving capabilities.

Powertrain & Performance: Hybrid and EV Options

While ZEEKR has not disclosed full technical details, the ZEEKR 9X will adopt:

• Super Hybrid Technology & a 900V high-voltage architecture

• Both all-electric and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) options

• A PHEV variant featuring a 2.0T gasoline engine paired with multiple electric motors

• A 60 kWh high-capacity battery pack with ultra-fast charging

• Air suspension and rear-wheel steering for improved handling

ZEEKR’s 2025 Model Lineup

In addition to the ZEEKR 9X, the brand plans to launch three new models in 2025:

• ZEEKR 007 GT – A luxury shooting brake tourer

• A full-size flagship SUV (ZEEKR 9X)

• A mid-to-large luxury SUV

Both upcoming SUVs will feature Hybrid Technology and are scheduled for release in the second, third, and fourth quarters of 2025.
