On November 7, 2024, Audi held a launch event in China. During the event, Audi and the SAIC Group announced their official collaboration to introduce a new brand: AUDI.

This brand will be identified by the letters "AUDI" instead of Audi's iconic four rings. The models under this brand will be built on an Advanced Digitized Platform, specifically targeting the Chinese market.

Moreover, this cooperation introduces a novel approach, with Audi being responsible for the exterior design and chassis tuning of the new vehicles, while SAIC will handle the intelligent cockpit and smart driving components.

Audi Unveils the AUDI E Concept

At the launch event, Audi showcased its AUDI E concept car. This vehicle measures 4,870 mm in length, 1,990 mm in width, and 1,460 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,950 mm. It is positioned as a B-class, all-electric Sportback model.

Thanks to its state-of-the-art Advanced Digitized Platform, the AUDI E concept car features nearly perfect body proportions and a bold, avant-garde design that makes it stand out.

In terms of interior design, the car offers a spacious and stylish cabin with a digitalized interior that combines high functionality with a rich connected experience. The central console features an open storage area that can hold two smartphones.

The curved, touch-sensitive AUDI panoramic display screen provides an intuitive way to relay information to both the driver and the passenger. The minimalist design also includes digital external rear-view mirrors integrated into the display, highlighting its functionality.

In terms of performance, the car is equipped with dual electric motors on the front and rear axles, delivering a total output of 570 kW. Supported by the iconic Audi quattro all-wheel-drive system, the AUDI E concept car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.6 seconds, continuing Audi’s tradition of delivering a fun and engaging driving experience.

As for the range, the AUDI E concept car comes with a battery capacity of 100 kWh, offering a range of over 700 km on a full charge according to the CLTC standard.

The Advanced Digitized Platform also incorporates an innovative 800-volt architecture with ultra-fast charging capabilities, allowing for a 370-kilometer increase in range with just 10 minutes of charging, thereby enhancing customer convenience.

It is also worth noting that during the launch event, it was confirmed that AUDI's first mass-produced model will be a mid-sized vehicle (Class B), expected to be released in mid-2025.
