The UAE market has officially welcomed the all new Kia Tasman pickup, marking the Korean brand’s first entry into the light truck segment locally. Entering one of the region’s most competitive categories, the Tasman delivers an exceptional blend of robust performance, bold design, and interior comfort, topped with advanced technology. Designed to suit both daily use and off road adventures, the pickup is offered in two configurations: double cab and chassis cab.
Rugged Design That Fits Every Purpose
The Kia Tasman stands out with a strong and rugged exterior that reflects the toughness of its build, making it an ideal choice for both adventurers and professionals. Sharp body lines emphasize its strength, while modern LED headlights and squared wheel arches add a solid, confident stance. The design smartly blends utility with a refined presence, allowing the Tasman to look at home both on city roads and at demanding job sites.
Comfort and Technology Inside a Premium Cabin
Step inside, and the Tasman surprises with a spacious, high quality interior filled with upscale finishes. Standard features include a 12.3 inch digital cluster and infotainment screen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility.
A separate 5 inch display manages the dual zone climate system, while wireless charging, powered front seats, and reclining rear seats elevate in cabin comfort. For those who value audio performance, the Tasman features a premium Harman Kardon sound system that delivers an immersive, theater like experience.
Multiple Trims to Match Every Need
Kia has launched the Tasman in a variety of trims to appeal to a wide range of buyers, starting from AED 118,290 for the base LX model. The lineup also includes EX and EX-Top trims, which will offer enhanced features, though pricing is yet to be revealed. For thrill seekers and off road enthusiasts, the X-Line and X-Pro variants start at AED 178,000 and come equipped with off-road enhancements to tackle rugged terrains with ease.
Power and Performance Options
The Kia Tasman offers two powerful engine choices tailored to meet a wide range of driving needs. The first is a 2.5 liter turbocharged petrol engine that delivers 281 horsepower and 421 Nm of torque, paired with either an 8 speed automatic or a 6 speed manual transmission.
The second option is a 2.2 liter turbo diesel engine producing 210 horsepower and 441 Nm of torque. This version is available with optional all wheel drive, boosting its off road credentials. Both engines can reach a top speed of 185 km/h and come equipped with advanced features such as hydraulic rebound stops, dedicated terrain driving modes, and a locking rear differential to maximize performance under tough conditions.
Utility Meets Smart Dimensions
The Tasman is engineered with practical dimensions to suit a variety of uses. It measures 5,410 mm in length, 1,930 mm in width, and 1,920 mm in height, offering a ground clearance of 252 mm and an 800 mm water wading depth. With a towing capacity of up to 3,500 kg, it’s built for demanding tasks. Inside, the fold up rear seats and extendable console table add flexibility and enhance cabin comfort for both work and adventure.
Bold Colors and Fierce Competition
Kia offers the Tasman in nine bold colors that highlight its strong personality, including Clear White, Snow White Pearl, Aurora Black Pearl, Interstellar Grey, Runaway Red, Denim Blue, Cityspace Green, Steel Gray, and Tan Beige. In the UAE market, the Tasman goes head to head with established rivals like the Toyota Hilux, Mitsubishi L200, Nissan Navara, and Volkswagen Amarok. However, its high end features and advanced technologies may give it a competitive edge in this crowded segment.
