A Refrigerator and A TV: Lynk & Co. 900 PHEV Unveiled In China

Lynk & Co has unveiled its Lynk & Co 900 in China and has started pre-sales with a price range of $45,500 to $60,000 USD. The official launch is scheduled for late April, and even though the car is still not available in GCC countries, let’s take a look at its outstanding features. 

In terms of exterior design, the Lynk & Co 900 adopts the "Next Day" design language, which the company uses to signify its new, more modern, and advanced future vehicles.

Its front fascia features a unique interactive screen composed of 10,192 lamp beads, allowing users to customize the lighting display with texts and animations. While this feature might seem purely aesthetic and fun, some suggest it could be useful for communicating messages to other drivers or pedestrians. The rear design mirrors the front with an interactive tail light consisting of eight rows of 2,400 lamp beads.

The Lynk & Co 900 is built on the SPA Evo platform, measuring approximately 5240 mm in length with a wheelbase of 3160 mm. The curb weight of the vehicle ranges between 2660 and 2820 kg, depending on the model.

The car boasts the integrated Zeekr Qianli Haohan intelligent driving assistance system, powered by a roof-mounted lidar, 11 cameras, five-millimeter wave radars, and 12 ultrasonic radars. This system enables several features, including collision avoidance, map-free urban navigation, high-speed navigation, and remote parking.

In China, the car is available with two engine options:

  • A 1.5-liter turbocharged engine with a maximum power of 188 horsepower.

  • A 2.0-liter turbocharged engine with a maximum power of 251 horsepower.

Standard trims come with two permanent magnet synchronous motors (front: 123 kW or 165 hp, rear: 230 kW or 308 hp), while the top-tier trim features three permanent magnet synchronous motors (front: 123 kW, dual rear: 340 kW or 456 hp).

The vehicle includes a ternary lithium battery with two capacity options: 44.85 kWh and 52.38 kWh. This provides a pure electric CLTC driving range of 220 km and 280 km/268 km, respectively, and a comprehensive CLTC driving range of 1,355 km and 1,350 km/1,443 km. The fastest charging time from 20% to 80% is 17 minutes.

Inside, three color options are available: beige, orange, and black, representing morning, noon, and night. Metallic and suede fabrics, along with Nappa leather, are used for the upholstery. The operating system is Lynk Flyme Auto.

The front row features a 95-inch AR-HUD, within which is a 30-inch 6K resolution integrated central control screen powered by dual Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 chips. A 12.66-inch full LCD instrument panel appears in front of the driver behind the steering.

A 9-liter cooling and heating box that also acts like a refrigerator iis situated under the center console, with a temperature range of -6 to 50 degrees Celsius. In other words, you can have your coffee iced or hot. 

Rear passengers can enjoy the 30-inch 6K resolution ceiling-mounted screen for entertainment.

The three rows adopt a 2+2+2 six-seat layout. The second-row seats can be adjusted forward and backward by 550 mm, and the third-row seats by 125 mm. There are also 42 storage spaces throughout the cabin.

Furthermore, officials stated that the Lynk & Co 900 is the world's first SUV equipped with dual 180-degree electric rotating seats: the second row supports 180°/90° rotation.  

The car is not yet available in the UAE, but it is likely to become available soon. Having just been launched in China, an SUV with these specifications is expected to be desirable in the Emirates.
