To stand out in the competitive market, Chinese electric vehicles must showcase impressive specifications and technological features. The new Mona M03 from Xpeng is touted as the most dynamic electric sedan, featuring a drag coefficient of just 0.194.
Before its expected launch in China in the third quarter of 2024, the company announced these impressive results. Several aspects of the car contribute to achieving this standard, including the active air intake on the lower front bumper (-0.023), rear wind deflectors (0.015), and low-drag wheels (0.013). The overall sleek design enhances efficiency by 15%, increasing the vehicle's range by 60 km.
The remarkable drag coefficient of 0.194 for the Mona M03 surpasses the previous record held by the BYD Han U6 at 0.195. Additionally, Xpeng's model outperforms other ultra-sleek electric sedans in terms of dynamics, including the Lucid Air at 0.197, Mercedes EQS at 0.20, NIO ET7, and Tesla Model S Plaid.
Interestingly, the price of the Mona M03 is expected to be significantly lower than the aforementioned models, with local Chinese media estimating its price to be around $20,700. The Mona M03 will also be smaller than other Xpeng sedans, with dimensions similar to the Tesla Model 3, specifically measuring 4780 mm in length and having a wheelbase of 2815 mm.
It will be available with a single electric motor producing either 188 horsepower or 215 horsepower, and will come equipped with BYD Blade lithium iron phosphate battery technology.
