The McLaren W1 supercar, the successor to the P1, boasts more than 1,200 horsepower.
The McLaren W1 demonstrates the power of hybrid technology, with a revolutionary V8 hybrid powertrain delivering 1,258 horsepower at its heart, as well as McLaren's state-of-the-art aerodynamics. And the W1's powertrain is comprised of a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine and electric motor, with the V8 delivering 915 horsepower and the electric motor providing an additional 342 horsepower. The engine is designed with race-grade technology and can rev up to 9,200 rpm.
The W1's performance figures are impressive: 0-62 mph in 2.7 seconds, 0-124 mph in 5.8 seconds and a top speed of 217 mph.
The car's aerodynamics are designed to improve efficiency without compromising drivability. Among the W1's aerodynamic systems are the Aerocell hardshell body and Ground Effect Technology, which can be adjusted in road and race modes. The vehicle is also equipped with an advanced front wing and 'Active Longtail' rear wing, which provides substantial downforce and dynamically adjusts for improved agility.
In addition, the W1's chassis is made of pre-preg carbon fiber, and the seats are fixed in a hardshell body to reduce weight and maintain a compact wheelbase. The vehicle is also equipped with gullwing doors to aid air circulation and ease of entry and exit.
The car's suspension takes its cues from Formula 1, with front and rear interconnected suspension controlling the body. The steering is fully hydraulic, providing excellent handling.
Inside, the W1 features InnoKnit materials, offering lightweight and customization options along with integrated ambient lighting. The vehicle also features a central touchscreen and a minimalist steering wheel, the latter containing Boost and Aero adjustment buttons.
The McLaren W1 is limited to 399 units worldwide, each priced at £2 million (equivalent to approximately SAR 9,815,400), all of which are currently sold out.
