Recently Tesla announced that its driverless cab, Robotaxi, will be officially unveiled at its October 10th launch event in Los Angeles.
This launch event was originally planned for August this year, but has since been delayed until October.
The Robotaxi concept first appears in Chapter 2 of Tesla's 2016 MasterPlan with the goal of reducing reliance on car ownership through proven L4+ Autopilot technology support.
Robotaxi's design vision is to create a fully self-driving vehicle with no rearview mirrors, pedals or steering wheel.
Recently, it was also revealed that a suspected Robotaxi camouflaged car was driving around Warner Bros. Pictures Group in Los Angeles. The car is smaller in size and may have a two-door, two-seat design.
Additionally, Tesla has seen an increase in data collection in California, especially near Warner Bros. in Burbank, as well as in locations such as Hollywood restaurants and Supercharger construction sites. These activities may be related to the development and testing of Robotaxi.
Some analysts have predicted that Robotaxi's share of Tesla's market capitalization could reach 70%.
