Recently, the Rolls-Royce Ghost Series II has made its appearance as an updated and improved version of the luxury sedan. It is five times more luxurious than the priciest vehicles from other brands. The car is built on the second-generation Ghost platform, unveiled in late 2020. The changes in the exterior design help distinguish the Ghost from its larger sibling.
With the unique headlamp design, it has become easier to tell apart the Ghost from the larger Phantom. The vehicle is equipped with sharp LED lights that seem to point toward the spirit of ecstasy emblem. The lower air intake has been reshaped, and at the rear, the car features a new set of taillights inspired by the Spectre electric model.
Like the Cullinan, which was updated earlier this year, the Ghost's cabin has been refreshed with a full-width glass panel that includes three separate digital displays. The main screen operates on the Rolls-Royce Spirit operating system and is connected to a 1400-watt sound system with 18 speakers, some of which are hidden in the ceiling.
Inside, passengers will also enjoy a new interior lighting sequence and new material options, including dyed ash and Duality Twill, a bamboo fabric embroidered with 2.2 million stitches and 18 kilometers of thread. If that doesn’t make the seats look like pieces of art, perforated seats are also available.
The car has not gone eco-friendly; instead, the 6.75-liter V12 engine with twin turbochargers has been replaced with a hybrid V8 engine. It produces the same power of 563 horsepower and 850 Nm of torque as the previous model. The acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes 4.8 seconds, and the top speed is limited to 250 km/h. While Rolls-Royce does not claim any improvements in the engine, it promises that the ride quality is better due to the suspension.
Rolls-Royce has successfully lowered the average age of its customers in recent years, one way being through the introduction of the sporty Black Badge line. There was a Black Badge version of the previous Ghost, and the new version follows the same path, replacing shiny chrome with dark colors, enhancing suspension strength, and lowering the ride height with 22-inch wheels.
Inside, there are carbon fiber touches throughout. It also gets a boost of 28 horsepower and 50 Nm over the regular Ghost, reaching 591 horsepower and 900 Nm of torque. The Black Badge comes with a price tag of $420,000.
