Nissan has released teaser images of the upcoming generation of Patrol models, marking the company's preparation for the new vehicle's unveiling in the Middle East. The new Patrol launched on September 4, competing against the Toyota Land Cruiser.
The teaser images reveal the familiar design elements of the Patrol, showcasing a new grille, taillights, and 22-inch aluminum wheels. The vehicle will be equipped with a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 engine and will be known as the Armada in the U.S. market.
Like the previous generation, the new Nissan Patrol shares the same production platform with the Infiniti QX80. Both vehicles appear to share similar dimensions, but the Patrol features a sportier design in the front and rear.
The grille design is motion-inspired and differs from the Infiniti QX80 and Nissan Armada, featuring chrome lines, a honeycomb structure, and uniquely vertical taillights for the Patrol.
The vehicle has confirmed the abandonment of the current generation's V8 engine in favor of a more efficient 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 engine found in the Infiniti QX80. Despite the reduction in cylinder count, Nissan promises that the new engine will outperform the previous one in terms of power, performance, and acceleration.
This engine produces 450 horsepower and 699 Nm of torque in the Infiniti QX80 and is paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive.
