The new Changan CS75 Plus has officially entered the Chinese market as a family SUV equipped with an internal combustion engine, priced at 121,900 yuan, or $17,750. The vehicle comes with an 8-speed automatic transmission, and its interior design is inspired by the MBUX-Hyperscreen displays.
The CS75 Plus is one of the best-selling crossover SUVs in China. From January to August 2024, Changan sold over 130,000 units of this SUV. To maintain high demand for this model, Changan has launched the fourth generation of CS75 Plus.
The fourth-generation model adopts a new design language featuring large front headlights and a semi-trapezoidal grille painted in body color. Additionally, it has a large air intake in the front bumper. Other exterior design features include retractable door handles, a flat roofline, and an LED taillight strip.
With the new design, this crossover SUV bears a striking resemblance to Changan's Uni series vehicles, including Uni-K, Uni-T, and Uni-Z, but represents a more mature version of the CS lineup. The new vehicle rides on 19-inch wheels and measures 4,770 mm in length, 1,910 mm in width, and 1,695 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,800 mm.
Inside, the new vehicle adopts a minimalist design style, with no physical buttons on the center console or the central tunnel. Instead, it features three screens, including a 10.25-inch LCD instrument panel, a 14.6-inch main screen, and a 12.3-inch front passenger screen, reminiscent of the Mercedes-Benz MBUX Hyperscreen. The gear shifter is located behind the double-spoke steering wheel, a design element also seen in Mercedes vehicles.
The vehicle also comes with wireless phone charging pads and a front passenger seat that can recline significantly to help the passenger maintain a neutral spine position. The front passenger seat also features electrically adjustable leg support. Furthermore, the Changan CS75 Plus supports L2 driving assistance systems, including self-parking and adaptive cruise control.
The vehicle is powered by an internal combustion engine. Currently, it is available with a 1.5-liter engine that produces 189 horsepower and 310 Nm of torque, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission with a torque converter. In December of this year, Changan will launch the new CS75 Plus with a 2-liter ICE engine.
The fourth-generation Changan CS75 Plus is available in two trims, priced between $17,350 and $18,500. Therefore, it is a relatively affordable family SUV.
