Mazda announced the launch of the 2025 CX-50 in the American market, where the updates include the introduction of an entirely new hybrid variant based on Toyota's system, which consists of a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine, three electric motors, and a small battery, giving it a total power of 222 horsepower and a torque of 221 Nm, with an all-wheel-drive system.
Although the hybrid system is derived from Toyota, Mazda has modified the fine details to enhance responsiveness and driving dynamics to suit the driving experience in the CX-50.
Exterior and Interior Updates of the 2025 Mazda CX-50
As for the aesthetic updates, they include modifications to the front bumper and new wheel options in 17 or 19 inches, along with new red leather interiors exclusive to the hybrid variant.
The safety systems in the car have also been enhanced, including the updated version of the smart brake support system that can detect pedestrians at night and intervene in emergencies, alongside a warning system for vehicles crossing in front of the car before any potential collision.
Available Engine Options for the Crossover
In addition to the new hybrid engine, the 2025 Mazda CX-50 will continue with the traditional 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine producing 190 horsepower and 251 Nm of torque, along with a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder turbo engine delivering 260 horsepower and 433 Nm of torque for the premium variant.
