Lumi has signed an agreement with Saferoad to provide technical assistance to streamline its fleet services in Saudi Arabia. Azer Shaqeel, the CEO of Lumi Car Rental, highlighted the company's efforts to revolutionize mobility for individuals and businesses inside and outside Saudi Arabia. This will be achieved through leveraging digital innovation in land transportation. He confirmed that Lumi's strategic vision focuses on driving long-term sustainable growth in the rapidly evolving transport sector in the Kingdom.
He set key objectives such as digitizing rental operations to enhance efficiency, simplifying used car sales through digital platforms, leveraging data for informed decision-making, and improving fleet utilization. The CEO of Lumi explained that the company's strategy is designed to ensure revenue continuity regardless of market conditions.
He stated that Lumi's success depends on maintaining and expanding current operations while seizing new opportunities, especially through partnerships between businesses and governments, and large-scale projects under the Saudi Vision 2030 framework.
With this in mind, he mentioned that they signed an agreement this year with IoT solutions provider Saferoad to deliver data-driven technical assistance to streamline their fleet services in the Kingdom. This partnership aligns with Lumi's strategy to lead the digitization of the land transport sector in Saudi Arabia. He added that the newly signed agreement would enable Lumi to drive digital innovation in land transport by providing the latest services to customers using enhanced technologies in the car rental sector.
He further added that Lumi is working to enhance its short-term rental business through multi-channel infrastructure, including mobile apps, websites, call centers, and WhatsApp services, all aimed at improving operational efficiency and profitability.
Lumi, which operates 41 branches in 18 Saudi cities, is working to integrate digital services compliant with global best practices. Shaqeel emphasized the importance of collaboration with companies that share a similar approach to delivering innovative services. He noted the growth of the Saudi economy and the tourism sector, supported by Vision 2030. The CEO attributed the future growth of the car rental market to the expansion of Saudi tourism and government initiatives to position the country as a global logistics hub.
He revealed that Lumi's profits reached 160 million SAR (approximately 42.6 million USD) in 2023, an increase of 17 million SAR. Shaqeel praised the company's focus on its core sectors – corporate and government rentals, daily rentals, and used car sales – as key to its profitability.
